Language Through Literature: An Advanced Reader of Contemporary Chinese Short-Short Stories is specially designed for North American students at the intermediate high and advanced levels. It includes twelve short-short stories which have been published in the past ten years. Each short-short story has approximately 1,200 to 1,800 characters. The stories fall under six thematic units: jobs, interests, marriage, the countryside, friends, and education. Each unit has two lessons. Each lesson contains a short-short story, a vocabulary list, a section with important expressions and grammatical structures, and a group of exercises. 《汉语小小说选读》是为北美地区中高级对外汉语教学编写的教材。全书共收入12篇最近10年发表的小小说，每篇小小说长度为1200~1800字不等。全书分为“职业”、“兴趣”、“婚姻”、“农村”、“朋友”和“教育”6个单元，每单元包括两课，每课包括小小说正文、新词语、重点词语和句式及练习4大部分。
