This book is a wonderful selection for all young mothers. Kindergarten is often the first independent step that young children take. On their first day of kindergarten, many children experience fear and anxiety. What should mothers do? Little Apple does not want to go to school, so her mother uses a handkerchief to make a heart and tells her to take it with her to school. Little Apple hangs the heart on the tree outside of the classroom window, so it is just like her mother is there with her. All of little Apple’s classmates copy her and bring their own hearts to school to hang them outside of the window – everyone except A Chi, a young boy whose mother passed away.
