Co-developed by Beijing Language & Culture University Press and ChinaSprout, this book is designed for Elementary students with no Chinese background. It focuses first on listening and speaking, then reading and writing for effective overall communication skills. A separate introduction to Pinyin helps young children learn to pronounce and understand Chinese correctly. Students will learn Chinese words for colors, numbers, family members, animals, shapes, food and drinks, telling time and more, while progressing to simple and practical dialogue. Each textbook is illustrated with colorful images, new vocabulary words and simple sentences. Designed in accordance with LOTE (Languages Other Than English) standards from various states. 本书是与教材相配套的教师手册，对每一课的语法和句型进行讲解，帮助老师们在教句型时特别注重跟英语的比较，注重站在说英语者的角度去观察和解释汉语的语音和语法。语法注释的目的是为了让老师给学生提供句型结构，训练他们听懂别人说话和用语言表达自己的能力。此外，为了让孩子们在娱乐中学习，本书还为每课设计了练习游戏。
